Are you a health conscious person? Most of us would like to answer this question in affirmative and indicate the various steps that we have taken to remain fit. We have purchased DVDs of various exercise videos. We have the latest equipments in our house.

We even have selected tracks that will be stored in our iPod for the exercise regimen.

However, the current generation focuses more on health by preventing diseases through medicines than by preventing diseases through physical fitness and exercises. While technology has improved and we know more about our body, it is equally true that we are facing newer problems that were not known in the past.

Obesity in youngsters is becoming a very big problem. There was a time when parents had to struggle to keep their children home during the day. Today, parents are struggling to divert their kids from various distractions like video games and computer games to encourage them to spend some time out in the open.

The most important requirement for physical fitness is the right frame of mind. Would you skip meals a day simply because you are busy? Chances are high that you will not skip more than two meals at a stretch. If you skip breakfast and lunch, you will invariably land upon the dining table for a heavy dinner. Of course, you would not mind buying doughnut, sweets and other junk food during the day to fortify yourself.

In such a scenario, how is it that we conclude that we do not have time for physical fitness? We may not be facing numerous problems because we are young and our body has the capacity to withstand our negative lifestyle. However, there become a time when we are old when we will have to pay for each and every mistake that we commit today.

It is advisable to develop the right attitude towards fitness as early as possible to avoid complications later. A body that is wrecked by obesity and physical problems cannot sustain health for long during old age.
