When it comes to your health care you need to be very proactive. A lot of medical and health conditions actually come with warning signs but people missed out on them because they did not pay attention to important health numbers. Health numbers are important health numbers that every person should know. These numbers can really come in handy and someday save a person’s life.
So what numbers should you always know and why are they important?
Blood Pressure. A lot of the medical problems out there are usually prefaced with high blood pressure. Medical conditions such as strokes, heart attacks and diabetes all have high blood pressure as a warning sign for the condition. Make sure that you know what your blood pressure is. Even if you only take your blood pressure at the pharmacy counter you will know if you are in the high, moderate or low range.
Cholesterol. Cholesterol is another number that can be an early warning sign that there is something seriously wrong. High cholesterol can be a sign that there are heart or artery conditions that need to be checked out by a health care professional. Make sure that you have your doctor run a cholesterol check at least twice a year so that you can compare them and know if there is something going on.
Weight. Weight is the easiest number to check. Just hop on a scale and you will see if you have gone up or down. Weight loss or weight gain is often a sign that there is something medically wrong. Of course, weight gain or loss is natural for many people but if it is extreme there might be something else causing the weight loss or gain.
Make sure that you know what your medical numbers are. You never know when one of these numbers could save your life.
