Dieting is not always about removing foods from your diet. Here are some awesome foods to add to your diet:
Protein
Best found in beans and meat, protein is required by the body to create new cells, which include rebuilding muscle, fighting infection, and making babies. Importantly, it provides you with a more long-term energy in contrast to carbohydrates, and it helps build muscle which is one of the best ways to boost metabolism.
Vitamins
Most of your vitamins and nutrients are best absorbed by your body through the foods you eat as opposed to pills you take (folic acid/folate is an exception). For this reason, add foods like fresh fruits and vegetables and dairy products.
Water
Hydration is the body’s fuel. No different than re-fueling your vehicle so it continues to go, you must refuel your body. Proper hydration keeps you more alert, keeps the skin soft and plump, and helps fight off feelings of false hunger. All water generally comes with a little more than H2O, but the purer forms such as tap water and spring water are generally the best way to maintain hydration. Water with electrolytes is extremely useful for activities that cause a lot of sweating. Some foods have water in it already like fruit, soup, meats, and Jello. Water with caffeine (such as soda, coffee, and teas) is not usually the best source for hydration because caffeine is a diuretic.
Regularity Foods
Best found in fiber, grapes, plums, and prunes, foods that increase your regularity help clean out the system. Without regularity, one can easily feel weak, tired, and under the weather. Avoid foods that contain additives to keep you regular because a good percentage of users of products like that have negative reactions, possibly from unknown allergies. Just don’t over-do it because too regular can be very unhealthy.
